Summer Holiday Makeup Edit

as you are reading this, I’m on my summer holiday and even though I don’t mind a holiday to the north and actually adore Swedish summers, we opted for the south this year. with Europe’s endless variety we settled for Italy and the island of Sardinia and I couldn’t be happier. just time to enjoy the beaches and eat great Italian food. I don’t take much makeup on holiday with me as it is but when I’m heading to the south of Europe or anywhere else very warm, I like to cut it down even more. I’m not the type for super fancy dinners and don’t feel too comfortable with a full face when it’s hot. I also need room in my suitcase for all the yummy Italian food and beautiful souvenirs I want to take back. when packing for my holiday this year, I thought I would really cut down my makeup because the main activity this holiday will be sunbathing and relaxing. maybe some of you will fly out somewhere warm and maybe not so warm soon too and you need some inspo on what to take if you don’t want to take loads of makeup.

one thing I didn’t want to pack as I didn’t want to use it anyway was a full on foundation. instead, I opted for my bali body bb cream. Its the lightest and easiest foundation for a hot day as it just evens out the skin tone and that’s it. it also has SPF in it which is a huge plus but I will obviously use proper SPF too. I’m hoping for some serious sun-kissed glow but to help that or enhance that, maybe when going to dinner or meeting up with friends who have also picked Sardinia, there’s only one palette I wanted to take and its the hourglass ambient lighting edit palette. It has everything I need and it quite small but has a huge mirror. the bronzer and blush shades are amazing and are so easy to use. I adore them.

after seriously messing up my brows, like we probably all did at some point, I feel like they have luckily all grown back into place so nowadays I actually just use a brow gel most of the time and maybe some pencil but for my holiday I thought just gel would be perfectly fine. The L’Oréal brow artist plumper is my choice. It cheap and cheerful and just does what its supposed to do. it adds some colour and holds by sometimes very unruly browns in place. In term of eyes I decided to just pack mascara for the evenings. My favourite at the moment is tarte lights, camera, lashes. its such a beautiful mascara and leaves my lashes long and voluminous but never clumpy or thick looking. One thing I really needed was highlighter to emphasize the holiday glow and theres only one perfect one to me and its the anastasia beverly hills x amrezy. Its so glowy and perfect and I wouldn’t want to take any different one with me. I also decided to pack one bold lipstick because I love wearing a bright colour when I have a tan and its my favourite lipstick at the moment. its the dior rouge in 844 trafalgar. its my perfect very vibrant orangey red. it looks perfect with very minimal makeup as just a pop and enhances sun-kissed skin so so well.

what about you? what is your perfect summer holiday makeup? also, where are you heading this summer?
