Countdown to Christmas #4
december is going by too quickly. I feel like the few weeks we have in the year to enjoy the festive period are just not enough. I need more time to visit all the Christmas markets, see all the lights, eat all the treats, and also produce all the content. luckily with work this year coming to an end, I will have more time to do just that. there are so many more cookies I want to bake and I also need to do some serious present shopping. as we take it very easy as a family when it comes to gift giving, I always leave it until December because even though town is buzzing this time of year, it makes me feel so festive to go from store to store and pick out gifts for my loved ones. I dedicate a whole day to it and its perfection.
what I did
this week was one of the busiest in a long time. wrapping up work before Christmas always means long hours and jam-packed days so I’m so excited to be off soon. I hardly had time to enjoy myself and all the festive things around me but for st. nicholas day on the 6th which we celebrate here in Germany, we went to a beautiful garden centre to listen to a reading about roses and we also had the most festive afternoon tea. the centre is basically set into the most beautifully designed grounds and everything is in an actual old greenhouse complex. everything was decorated accordingly and I loved every second and it truly motivated me to keep on going for the few days I still have to work.
what I want to do next week
it’s finally time to get our Christmas tree next week. I can’t wait because that means its truly Christmas in this house. I’m also officially off work which means more time for myself and to enjoy December. I also will have my annual Christmas gift shopping day and I can’t wait.
