Favourite Red Lipsticks for the Colder Months
‘Tis the season my loves, it’s time to get out the dark red lipsticks and nail polishes. I’m ready and I have been looking forward to it all year, to be honest. so I decided to share my favourite reds with you as i actually have been cracking out the statement colours so much already and it just makes me feel extra cosy this autumn. there obviously is no pressure to wear dark lips and I used to be so scared of doing something dark and always felt like I wouldn’t suit me but over the years I found the right shades and formulas that just work and stay put even on a windy and rainy day.
two actual lipsticks I adore are from mac. I used to be obsessed with mac lipsticks and I used to get a new one every time I got paid from my first job. one of the first ones I got is a classic autumn shade and one that so many people adore. it’s diva. a very classic wine coloured dark red. I usually don’t go for dark reds with berry undertones as I feel like it clashes with my skin tone and doesn’t suit me all too well. its a matte and it is very matte which means it can feel dry but it stays where it’s supposed to be. one lighter red is one I’m so happy I got. I bought it on a whim and packaging wise its the most beautiful one I have. it’s from a collab with Rihanna ages ago and it is a true cherry red with tiny gold shimmers in it. it’s not matte but not too shiny and is so comfortable to wear. I wish something like this would come back again.
When it comes to liquid lipsticks, there’s only one formula I truly love. it’s the jeffree star ones. they are just so comfy to wear and feel so light and like there’s nothing there whilst being pigmented and staying in place for ages. the colours I have are very similar. they are unicorn blood and designer blood. unicorn blood is the base shade of both and its the most perfect deep red. there is no better vampy red for me. designer blood is the same colour but with gold pigments which makes it look more lively on the lips.
here we are, my favourite ever red lips for the colder months. have you tried any of them? what are your favourites?
