i feel like lately so many beauty brands keep on launching amazing new products and i wish i had enough money to buy every single one. luckily, drugstore brands have also been stepping up their game and have been launching such exciting new products. l'oréal is one of them. in my books, they have been killing it lately and i had my eye on a few of their new products ever since i saw big bloggers/youtuber talking about them. the products i really wanted to add into my collection are the nude magique cushion foundation and the indefectible sculpt palette and i really had to hunt high and low for them as they sold out so quickly. when i managed to grab them, i was beyond excited to try them as i find german drugstores not very nice and most of my favorite products are in fact more expensive.
cushion foundations have been popping up all round lately and even though i never heard of them before, i was really intrigued. its basically a soft sponge soaked in foundation. the nude magique cushion foundation comes with a lid over the sponge which closes very tightly to make sure it doesn't dry out. it also comes with a sponge and mirror but i never use those sponges anyway. the shade range is not too good. my local store only had 4 and i went for the lightest shade 01. i use my damp beauty blender and basically dip it into the sponge or cushion and buff it into my skin. it gives a very light and dewy coverage and is perfect for day to day wear. its not full coverage but feels so good on the skin. i have dry skin so i prefer dewy finishes but i'm not too sure if it would work well with oily skin. for me, its amazing for day to day use.
getting a good contour has been a massive trend for quite a while and i never really found something at the drugstore to do so. many bronzers are just orange and finding a nice highlighter in a german drugstore is a real challenge. when the indefectible sculpt palette came out i was thrilled. as i'm very fair skinned i went for 01 light as the contour shade is very cool toned. the bronzer and highlighter are matte and very creamy which makes the palette look quite messy after a while. both shades are very pigmented and creamy, so very easy to work with and blend out. i use a brush that actually came with it in a set and i love it so much. i never thought that contouring could be easier with cream products. it works so nicely and i would highly recommend it.
have you tried any new products recently? please let me know! also, would you like to see a contouring routine?
