Nikolaus

the 6th of december is nikolaus day in germany and i think a few other places so let me know if you celebrate it or not but i wanted to share this tradition with you. basically its based on st. nikolaus who gave children in need presents nowadays kids or even adults clean their shoes on december 5th and leave them out tonight so nikolaus can come in the night and fill the clean shoes with sweets, chocolate and little presents. my mom always told me that he would put nothing in if my shoes were dirty. since i don't live at home anymore my parents gave me a stocking last year to open on december the 6th but when i got up this morning to check my mail i found chocolate and little gifts in fron of my door. i have no idea how my parents managed to place them there since they don't have a key to my apartment building but i loved it and was so grateful. basically i got a bunch of milka and lindt chocolate which is my favorite and also some socks which are always needed in my house hold. the cutest thing i got is a bag is loose christmas tea and it actually comes with a strainer that looks like an elk. so adorable and i can't wait to try it. let me know if you celebrate nikolaus day. i'd love to know.
