when i showed you the chocolate bar palette by too faced you all seemed so interested in it that i decided to dedicate an entire post just to my too faced palettes. as i mentioned in my uk beauty haul, i bought the chocolate bar and the semi-sweet chocolate bar palette and i’ve used either of them every single day so far. basically every palette comes with 16 dessert themed shades. a good mixture of mattes and shimmers, lighter and darker neutrals and also a slight bit of color in them. as soon as you open them, it smells heavenly. i wouldn’t say its a chocolate smell but it smells sweet and a bit like vanilla and just so good. i’m normally not into heavily scented beauty products but as these ones are chocolate themed it just fits and works. the packaging is very sturdy and a good quality hard cover, metal kinda case. perfect for taking places or if you just prefer a packaging that doesn’t get grubby easily.
to me, the chocolate bar palette is the warmer toned one. a lot of earthy tones with a variety of golds, bronzes and burgundy shades and one purple shade that comes out so nicely. every single shade comes out beautifully and highly pigmented, easy to blend and to apply onto the lid. i find this one comes with a perfect amount of shades to create tons of every day looks with the opportunity to darken the eye make up for a night out look. every single shade works great with each other and i personally just love having such a big variety of shades. it inspires me to do new looks every day and try something new every now and then.
the semi sweet chocolate bar is the newer edition to the palettes and is a lot more cool toned which i sometimes prefer, especially for nights out. i don’t really know why, its just a personal preference i guess. it also comes with a beautiful mauve shade which is an essential for me. it also comes with a blue color which comes out way more silvery as it looks. i swatched it on my ring finger. the palette also contains a black which is super handy if you take it places as it works as an eyeliner. the quality of the eyeshadows is just as good. lately both of them have been in use non stop and if you have the money to spend it on a high end palette, i would highly suggest having a look at either of them. i guess its just preference whether you prefer warm or cool tones on yourself. the quality of the palette is insane and such a joy to work with.
i hope you enjoyed seeing both of the palettes a bit closer. i really do love them. also, i’m sorry that i didn’t post as much the past week. i have a huge homework to hand in next week plus i caught a really nasty cold and i’m now glued to my sofa to get better. hope you’re doing well.
